The Old Folks Home

The earth has gone through consistent changes for millennia. I don't believe in just a little over 100 years that humans are the cause of the planet heating up. I do however believe that the powers that be have come up with a plan to make more money and gain more control through a false narrative.
How self centered do you have to be to believe that you can effect the climate.
As Gregory House said; "To think you are responsible for everything, you have to also believe you are all powerful."

Ahhhh boy! It's hard work mopping up mud from an old wooden barn floor after a flood. The farmers market is an old barn. When your mop gets caught in a nail or splinter for only the 100th time, you realize how well old buildings are made! The vendor across from us is diabetic and he looked like a dog ready to take his last breath. He was new and had to walk a distance to a water source and the lady there was being a jerk. At times like this you learn who your real friends are. I told him we aren't going to have church services in here so if the mop keeps dragging out mud from crevices, don't worry about it! I unloaded the van of all the vinyl records I had loaded before the flood. Now we only have to organize. There is very little loss because I had put everything on tables before hand. But what a job to reorganize! And those ancient, wooden, wet doors didn't want to line up so I could lock to come home. I pushed, pulled,
Shoved, slammed, kicked, and hammered... Everything short of spitting on them! The one I eventually got all the locks in place but the other one was too stubborn. I don't swear- maybe that was all it would have taken to do the trick.DH will go along to help sort things, maybe he can get that last lock lined up, I just never thought about the doors swelling up from water!

I'm finding out how much the door to the run had swelled with the humidity. It used to be a fairly snug fit. Now that the air has dried out -- a lot! -- it swings shut very easily.

The new puppy is doing really, really well. What a lover she is!

It turns out she may really be a year old. Some of the paperwork says she was born in August of 2020. I had based my estimate of her age on the one that says she was found in a park in Texas last April. She's very slender and svelte and weighs 38 pounds. We're thinking she might get a bit bigger, but she's wonderful the size she is.

Two words. SHOP VAC. Big powerful water and mud sucking shop vac.

Afternoon all. I did a crash and burn this afternoon. Got some stuff done this morning, felt tired and dizzy this afternoon, laid down on the sofa at 1 and just woke up.

Getting old is such a kick in the pants!

@sourland sounds like your SIL is related to my SIL. Take deep breaths and map out an escape route. Use it frequently.

I'm POed at the place where I buy my feed which is the local farmer's association feed store. Bought a bag of game bird finisher to mix with my layer pellets to give the little darlings who are just starting to molt some extra protein. Got to the middle of the bag and it's full of grain moth webs. I'd noticed the birds had been digging out the layer pellets from the feeder now I know why. Larvae! granted it's a bit of extra protein but to me it also smacks of old feed that has lost part of the nutrition I want for my birds.

It's one of those situations where if I complain, I'm labeled a pain in the a** so I guess I'll be throwing my business to the local ADM feed salesperson in the neighborhood that is Amish ran.

The governor mandated masks in child care centers. I think we need a governor who has little children! In the ER I saw a lady who obviously had dementia. She was constantly pulling off her mask and they touched her face so often to put it back on that it must take full-time aides at retirement villages and child care centers to devote all their time to keep masks on.
