I can only imagine the problems with scores of dogs around. Of course they would have to have a "must be on leash" requirement. And of course some people would ignore that or use a retractable leash and the dogs would be all over each other. Then there is the issue of all the potential dog poop!

Hi Guys! Meet Peg (she came with the name). She's a looker, in great health, and quite accommodating. First day of confinement is almost complete and no incidences.

Stardust is checking her out from a distance. But then I noticed too she was in and out of the nesting box a few times. Maybe she's getting ready to lay. She's 23 weeks now.

Here's Bandit, all grown up! Such a lovely boy (at least to me!) And for a (supposed EE, he was sold as an Ameraucana) he's so polite and treats his hens like a gentleman.

Twist, one of his wives a Cinnamon Queen.

And Dora the Explorer, a Calico Princess. She's one of the two in an earlier photo exploring the kitchen.

All three of the calico's survived childhood.

Anddd finally. Bruce the magnificent. He's out of Bruiser who was one of Charlie Sheen's sons. Hey, what you doin' in there?

I know he has cockoo in him because of the red on his legs and the mottling on the front side. And I know he's out of one of the 4 black part silkie hens I got because of the 4 toes!

Just like his grandpop, he likes to sit on the eggs and chuckle. He's so proud!

Hey! Do you mind, we are trying to take a bath here!

That's Margaret in the back, and Star in front. Star and her sibling were the last purchase I made. I can tell them apart by the combs. Starburst's comb flops over a bunch.

DH was surprised I could tell my 3 Black Australorp hens apart. Their combs are totally different, and the expression on their faces is different too.

No doubt any more about who Starshine's mom and pop were. She's the white on black with amost fencil peathering I have. Her mom is the black sex link Henrietta, and dad was Charlie sheen the coockoo marans. How do I know? Anyone see this ad?

Have never bought chicks or from a hatchery. Yes have hatchery hens but bought them at a feed store here may sound funny .. There is a poulty auction tomorrow I am planning on attending to buy like 4 birds that are point of lay

I've not bought them directly from a hatchery either, but I get their emails so I can see what they have for sale.
I like hatching my own now. Boys be darned...
Here's K.E. and Bonnie's lone survivor and Waddles his nursery play pal the showgirl. I decided to name him/her Kernel Corn Pop. Some may get it, some may not! He has some fuzzy feathers too! He's 3 weeks old today, and will have some full siblings in just 2 more weeks.

Poor waddles a lots! She's so ugly she's adorable!
