The Old Folks Home

They pulled HCTZ from me about 8 years ago after taking it for years. They said it was dehydrating me and throwing off my blood chemistry.
Yes! It messed up my calcium level-- raised it to 10 which is borderline high.

To the question of "I want ALL the _______ (insert animal, hobby, garden, etc)!!!"
I have to balance my life as well as I can between work, garden, chickens, house, and pets. Oh yeah, and that lovely hubby.

My work is forgiving, as I am a folk artist and work from home, but everything else puts so much pressure on it, that I have to work to focus on work. He works from home, too, but we have really early hours--up at 4:30 or earlier, and falling out by 8:30.

I'm pretty sure I'm at my limit for things to take care of (so...no goats), and I have had to really curtail my gardening as we live in the high desert. If I didn't, I'd be watering three times a week for hours.

Moderation is tough sometimes, isn't it?

I am dehydrated a lot, though i generally drink 8 bottles of water a day. Probably a side effect of medications.

Morning all!

Went to the doctor yesterday. Told him how good I was feeling and about my inability to take statins and what did he do? RX me another statin drug to try.

Sigh. Sometimes I wonder about the medical profession.

I tired one tablet last night. Glad that once again I didn't tolerate it, upset stomach, bowel cramps, fatigue, feeling ill..danged RX is over 300$ He gave me samples but if he thinks I'm paying 348$ a month for a drug that makes me feel like heck, he's got another thing coming. If I'm going to feel miserable, I'd much rather have fun doing it, like partying with friends, too much good food, too much good drink, etc to the tune of 348$

On a brighter note. Broody is on day 13 today, 11 eggs under her.

I'm also fighting mouse wars. Haven't seen mice but I put out bait holders full and the bait is gone the next morning. They are in the coop walls! I shudder to think how many are there. Took away all potential nesting spots in the coop so that is where they went. Sigh.

To quote Roseanne Roseannadana Just goes to show you...it's always something.
I quit statins years ago. My blood work shows I'm fine. So why was I on them in the first place? I stopped my husband and myself when I started studying what meds cause foggy brain..confusion, because I didn't want my husband that had Alzheimer's on any. When I read up on it, I also stopped them for me. I'm doing just fine.

My doctor at the time told me I was dehydrated. I told him that I always had a water bottle at my desk and drank continuously while cycling to avoid dehydrating and he said it didn't matter. The fluid wasn't sticking around long enough to do me any benefit thanks to the diuretic I was taking.

Morning or afternoon folks. We are finally seeing a break in the nasty spring weather by this weekend with temps going to the mid 70s and lower 80s. It will finally feel like spring!
