For years, we've had cable (along with internet and phone) through our FIOS provider. It was initially Verizon, which sold to Frontier. Frontier has been phasing out their cable service, while offering a streaming service. Dh was checking prices.
If we cancel everything, after 2 days we could apply again as new customers for the internet, and phone bundle only, at a significant savings. Even with a subscription service like youtube tv, we would still save quite a bit overall. The only downside is that from the time we cancel, to the time we sign up again as new customers, and they get out here to start our service, it takes about 2 weeks. Obviously their focus is on new customers, and not making changes easy on loyal customers that have been with them for years.
We do have our phones, and at least one tablet that has 5G through our cell phone provider, so we wouldn't be entirely without internet. As to tv, I have more than enough bluray discs for us to play during that time, so it won't be too unbearable.
