Went to the accountant and had our will modified and the modification notarized. Our kids are really financially stable so we set it up so that the grandkids each get some money before everything is dispersed.

We set up our trust to bypass the middle generation. The parents have assorted Powers of Attorney with minimal stipend but get no real benefit (they're quite well off anyway) and the grandkids get a jumpstart.

Since DH and I didn't have kids (and therefore no grandkids), we've been thinking and talking about what to do with what we have when we pass. We're still in that stage.

Anyone else in that boat?

@Sally PB I would suggest first looking at extended family.

Any cousins or neices or nephews?

Then I would look at friends who might have a bunch of kids and be in need....

If none of the above options impress you... then pick a charity.
