The Old Folks Home

I would suggest first looking at extended family.

Any cousins or neices or nephews?

Then I would look at friends who might have a bunch of kids and be in need....

If none of the above options impress you... then pick a charity.
Good ideas.

My extended family is either all set, or not someone I'd leave anything to. Yup, got some rotten apples in the basket.

We've talked about a friend of ours who is young enough to be our daughter, and I'm thinking we'll leave her something. Our neighbors are fine people, and one of them has young kids, so we might do something there, too.

We've talked about leaving our land to some kind of conservancy program. We'll see what the next decades bring, as far as that goes.

Or we could end up needing it all in our later years. Who knows?

Since DH and I didn't have kids (and therefore no grandkids), we've been thinking and talking about what to do with what we have when we pass. We're still in that stage.

Anyone else in that boat?
You aren't alone, Sally.

We are in the same boat and no oars so to speak. Nobody on either side we are close enough to leave anything to. Tried to 'feel' things out and nobody passed.

Like you and your husband we are still debating but undecided....and we aren't getting any younger, unfortunately.

We finally got to the grocery store this morning. There was plenty of parking and we were surprised to see lots and lots or turkeys! Fresh and frozen, even had parts! So I got a fresh one. I’m trying it a new way though. I parted it out and the carcass is in the pressure cooker. The parts were salted and will stay uncovered in the fridge overnight to dry out the skin a bit hopefully. So much for taking a holiday, but this is so much better! :)

I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving!
