The Old Folks Home

After my fist trip to the fair, and it was pretty hot out, seeing so many people with neck fans, I decided I'd order some from Amazon. I asked everyone in the family if they wanted one. Nope. I ordered 1 of each of the 2 top brands, and decided I'd test them out, and keep the one I like best for me. The other would be for anyone that decided they might want to use it, or I'd have a spare.

Saturday, the weather channel said it was going to be 84 degrees out. Walking around outside all day with the Florida sunshine beating down on your head in 84 degree weather can get a bit uncomfortably warm. I charged up the neck fans the night before. I put mine on as we headed out the door. Nobody wanted to use the other one, but I carried it along anyway. Good thing I did.

As we were walking, the youngest grand got hot, so I put a neck fan on her. She loved it, and it cooled her down. Her aunt, Dd #2 got warm, and asked to try the neck fan. Youngest grand was willing to surrender it to her aunt for a little bit, to let her cool down. After bit, the fight was on. Hey, give me back my neck fan. No, I want to use it. I was using it first, give it back. I like it, let me use it. That's not fair, I like it too, I had it first, and I just let you borrow it for a little bit, now give it back. In the meantime Dd #1 decided she wanted to use it too. Grandma..... Oh heck no, you guys are NOT getting mine. Don't even think about it. Dd #1 bought another one at the fair, but it wasn't fully charged. That's ok, it worked long enough during the hottest part of the day, and not too long after that, the sun began setting, so things cooled off a bit.

Okay first peep of 9 out this morning loud and happy. I recall Watkins spices never see them here.

Pour about 4 tablespoons of olive oil into a clean glass cruet, or an actual glass, cover it, and set in in the refrigerator. In about 24 hours, it should solidify from the cold. If it does not completely solidify, it's not pure olive oil.
Ok, thank you! I need to try that with the stuff I've bought.

Hi everybody! I haven't been on here for awhile. Went through a rough period with the neighbor. I'm getting infusions for the crohns now. I'm nauseous today but still kicking butt. Dh has survived hip replacement surgery and looking good! My ladies are at my brother's farm living the good life. Our property went on the market on Saturday with the first prospective buyers out two hours later. It has been lined up with showings since. We paid $92,000 and got our first offer today for $147,00- higher then the asking price, pending appraisal. I've already been pre-approved for a USDA loan so hopefully from here it will lead us to a land of peace and harmony!
Welcome back, and good luck in establishing your new home and flock.
