I think I can safely fill the fountain out front now without fear of frozen water. The coyotes will be happy.

Nearly done converting the quail pen to a brooder. All the pieces are cut and painted, just waiting for it to dry.
I decided i may as well convert the other side as well, while the roof is off. If i just get the bottom done, then i can put the roof back on.

Yes!
The quail block, a water saucer, and bunny feeding station is just across the driveway from the fountain. Hopefully by filling the fountain the critters will leave the irrigation lines and tubing alone. Coyotes have already been in the area as we're on one of their thoroughfares through the properties and I'm frequently picking up scat from the driveway. Every once in a while there's a sighting in our orchard. From what I can tell, the coyotes are eating well as they are solid and have nice coats. I'm hoping they'll develop a taste for squirrel as there's a family that has been snacking on the garlic bed.
