The Old Folks Home

My wife has had 3 knee replacements for bone on bone. One knee twice then a plate in the big bone after it developed a hair line fracture. It's not easy getting old.
I am hoping to make it to retirement before getting the knee replacement.

I will likely need a hip replacement soon after. There is a lot of arthritis on my Mom's side of the family.

They found my hips needing to be replaced they tell me to late. To many conflicting medical problems. I'm going to push for the right decision on that. My mom put off shoulder replacement until it was bone to bone and very painful and went and had a blood clot and went on blood thinners and could no longer get the replacement. I had no warning what so ever. I was ok and over a 6 weeks period went from a slightly notice to intolerable.

My Mom waited too long on knee replacement too!

My Dr. said to not wait past age 70 since outcomes are not as good after that age.

Doc just told me to get shoulders done before 80 or they wouldn't do them. 3 years to get them done. I want to get them done at 79.5 so they last as long as possible.

My shoulders (especially the left) are shot, and I am past 80. Guess I will have to live with it. :idunno
