The Old Folks Home

While growing up in FL I didn't know what a chigger was but I sure knew what a Red Bug was. Spanish moss in the oaks was full of Red bugs. Often times young kids out playing in the woods couldn't make it home and hid behind an oak tree with a handful of Spanish moss. Mom didn't have to explain it but once about Red bugs after that.

Chiggers/Red Bugs are the same critter. BEFORE going into the woods, bathe in dog flea/tick shampoo, paying attention to the directions. https://www.amazon.com/SENTRY-Oatme...ix=flea+shampoo+for+dogs,pets,104&sr=1-8&th=1 With this one, repeat every 9 - 10 days. Another older preventative is Fels Naptha/Octagon soap. Get wet, lather all over lightly, DON'T rinse. After you get back from the woods, rinse it off.

Good morning, OFs! Have a great day and stay safe!

I may go to town and I may not. If I ration the chickens they've got plenty of feed until I get a load in the morning. I really don't want to do anything not needed today. I might scare the rain away if I did. I have tried to explain to the chickens what it is like being an OF but they just start at me.
