The Old Folks Home

Good morning, OF.

In our 59 years together, we've had 7 indoor dogs. All mattered, but Maggie owned me from the moment I placed her inside my coat to keep her warm. She wasn't easy, but she was fun. The Princess once said, "You've never played with any of our dog the way you play with Maggie. I replied, "The SOB won't let me alone." She was in near constant contact with me - sleeping on my feet, holding my hand in her mouth as we walked through the house -------- The horror of her last 36 hours remains. I vacillate between - I waited too long and I should have waited longer, but 6 seizures in a 36 hour period broke me.
I'm at that point..do I..or don't I..with my Gracie. :( Always beside me.

The monsoons are wending their way back into the state of New Mexico and my knees are SO achy. But that's the only drawback as any moisture is welcome here. It's nice not to have to set the irrigation nor rush out to water the veggie compound.
REALLY nice to have the heat dome we were under shift elsewhere. If I had wanted an extended period of 100+ degree days I'd have stayed in Las Vegas, NV.

Appointment next month to discuss getting serious about knee replacement surgery. I am ready and anxious for it. Anybody here have it done?

I am interested in seeing how the replacement goes for you!

From the looks of my shoes I did step in a lot of things today. Mostly organic in nature. It's to hot to venture out for non emergency needs right now. 100° is a little on the high side for me. I just saw where a hurricane may deliver much needed rain to the cotton and peanut farmers around me. My kids would like the grass to grow tender with a shower of rain too. Meanwhile it's wait until the porch rockers can get some use.
