The Old Folks Home

It's scary how fast a fire can spread. I watched one that was just in one room engulf a house in about 50 minutes.

It was at the end of a practice burn for the FD, so it was not put out, as there was no point in saving the building.
Downtown Woodland had a fire this summer that bunt down three houses and a bunch of out buildings.

These were old Victorian era houses and they burn very quickly! They were not built with modern fire suppression building designs.

Oh Cap, she's your best yet! How tall is she?

Last year when we had the -12 temps I broke down and hung a heat lamp for the bantams. They were all huddled in a puddle of misery. I too caged the silly thing in on top of it having a basket covering the light. On top of that I did belts and suspenders with it. So if it did somehow come loose it wouldn't hit the floor nor would it hit the ground. It would just dangle and not hurt anything. Plus I only ran it during the day. One light brought the temp up in the coop enough that it made it warm enough for the birds to be at least comfortable.

But between you and me and the nearest fence post those things give me the peedoodles.
Thank you! I estimate about 10". Left her at the studio in Danville so she can get fired.
What's a peedoodle? I am sure I don't want any!

I put him in the kiln tonight! Lori will likely turn it on tomorrow after the other kiln is done. So the day after that, I will get to see it! If I get to go to Danville, which I kind of doubt. Unless she sends me a photo.
