I sowed clover last fall and it did some good. It turned off dry and that didn't help any. Down here lots of pasture gets over seeded on large farm pastures also. I think they even use some alfalfa in them.

Then I will try it. I couldn't find anyone to till my garden extension so I need to find another way to get rid of the grass. I will not accept that poison is the only thing that works.I sowed clover last fall and it did some good. It turned off dry and that didn't help any. You can get sheets of heavy mil black plastic and cover a square at a time until it is killed. No chemicals involved. Same plastic can be used to warm a spot for early planting in the spring. Then I will try it. I couldn't find anyone to till my garden extension so I need to find another way to get rid of the grass. I considered that possibility, and once I have fences up I may use that for another section. Right now, no fences and it needs to be ready for the first stage by next spring. The tree seeds need to go in before the ground freezes solid. So borrow some sheep. They eat down to nubs.
