The Old Folks Home

What are y'all paying for turkeys where you live? I got a 13.5 pound bird for 98 cents a pound at Wally World yesterday.
Probably about $5/pound.

When I got it home, I saw this on the label: Contains up to 9.5% water/sodium/ whatever else they plump it up with.
Yeah none of that stuff for us for a once in a year meal. Ours are pasture raised 3 miles from here. WAY better than injected Butterball or other massive turkey factory farm birds.

Finally reached my weight loss goal of 120 pounds. Now I'm trying to keep it between 120 and 125 over the winter. That means I lost a grand total of around 27 pounds.
Congratulations! Not an easy thing to do.

Got a few buckets of woodchips moved. Chickens will re-move them when discovered.
Yep. I cleaned out the chicken coop (horse stall) a couple of months ago, raked it all to the end of the alley to pick up later with the tractor and transferred to the compost bin. That nice big pile was soon transformed into a wide layer of bedding by my feathered friends.
