The Old Folks Home

Yep, they had a back up for my mother in case of power outages. I think her room air concentrator had a battery back up though, plus at the time I was living in town so if there was a power outage all I had to do was call and ask for priority power restoration due to her being on O2. Never had to do that.

When she was worsening, they brought in one of these humongous tanks for a back up as the concentrator wouldn't handle high levels of 02 that require a rebreather mask. I was glad they did as she wound up needing it.

Shame the company that supplies her 02 didn't check with you knowing a holiday was on tap. The one I used did.
Yeah, the concentrator does not supply the level of the tanks we know. That came up during the last delivery of the tanks. Sometimes if more than normal get used we make the short trip to the office and pick it up. Can't do that now. We will be watching it from now on. A lot of this is still new to us.

Did I show you guys the King Gnome?

Can you elaborate on how this is done? I'm considering doing it, but don't know diddly about how.
I’m curious too although I don’t think I’m allergic to anything hah but I know a little bit about how it’s done with dogs but obviously people is much more complicated cause there isn’t a kibble for people or treats to cut out 🤣

Basically what I do is for instance, artificial sweeteners I stopped using all artificial sweeteners for 72 hours. I had saccharin, stevia, aspartame and sorbitol on hand. Not all in pure form but some as additives in sugar free drinks etc.

After 72 hours I began to add sweeteners one at a time and each one I used for 48 hours to see if I had any side effects from them. If I used sweet n low for 48 hours without any noted side effects and tried a drink mix with aspartame in it and 48 hours later started having stomach and colon pain I knew it was the aspartame. I would eliminate that, give my guts a couple days to settle down and then add another and repeated the process until I had tried them all. At the end the only one that didn't cause me upset and or pain was the saccharine artificial sweetener.

For me, the side effects would start fairly rapidly so I would use sweet n low for my breakfast coffee and if I didn't have any side effects within 24 hours I knew it was good to go. If I used an aspartame drink mix for lunch I would be feeling it's effects by supper time. Stop the aspartame and the side effects would ease off by the next day.

I did the same thing with my whole wheat fiber foods I was eating only in reverse. I started eliminating one food a day until the symptoms of pain and indigestion I was having went away completely. When I was done, I had pretty much eliminated everything I was eating that was high in fiber and contained whole wheat fiber. Oops. Doctor said to eat high fiber but then I discovered that whole wheat can irritate chronic gastritis/colitis. Sorry doc, I ain't no masochist.
