The Old Folks Home

Oh - I forgot! The Perry Creek Road surface is called "chip & seal. " that will probably mean something to someone.

Yes, good old chip and seal. squirt on oily tar and then dump rocks on top. Watch for broken windshields until they come back and sweep up the extra rocks.....

To me, it means riding your bike with your jaws apart to keep your teeth from rattling together, and maybe even walking it at a stop sign because of all the loose gravel at intersections. I didn't even know they still used this method of paving!

Nearly 70 degrees here, today, and the Mosquitos are biting. Grrrrr. Itch, scratch.

I met with John the Contractor ( who also bakes - he brought me a piece of homemade apple pie and I gave him some duck eggs) at the Ranch. We have marked out the location for the new coop and adjacent pen, plus discussed building three side-by-side breeding pens.

He will start on Wednesday.

Oz, there are three nearby bed & breakfast inns - hope to see you in the spring!

Jason, the Pub had the following beers on tap: Kilt Lifter, Newcastle, West Coast Green Flash IPA, Boont Amber ale, Boddington Pub Ale, Guinness, Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin, Great White Shark, Stella Artois, Rubicon, and Firestone IPA. One tap is out right now... Dunno what is usually there , sorry. Many other beers in bottles.

Time for me to chow down on the omelet I ordered, made from 3 eggs I brought straight from the Ranch. (The manager buys eggs for her personal household use, but the price point for The Pub is too low for me to sell eggs to 'em right now. I handed her 3 extra eggs to use for my omelet.)

Being a regular has its benefits.

The IPAs have me.

See you in Spring

I replaced the control unit--It was not getting up to 99.5. GQF was willing to adjust the old one but I can't be without it for that long. I have 44 egg in there hatching today!
Did they at least provide the replacement for you to do? When using the Brinsea Thermometer you mentioned to get one of those water snake toys. I have not seen them for awhile. I actually forgot they once existed. Where can you find these? Sorry for all of the questions.
