Good evening, Old Folks! I've been tied up with life in the Outside World the past several days, missed you guys! Jury duty breezed by -- they had me check in (online) every evening this past week but I didn't have to report till Friday -- then they excused a bunch of us by 11am so it's over for a year. (Huzzah!!!) That left me free to take my Eureka daughter out to lunch and hang out with her for a bit; we always have fun and talk non-stop when we get the chance.

We've had a nice break in the relentless rains so I was busy working outside while I could; temps up to 69F today, so steamy! Tomorrow and maybe Tuesday morning will be ok, then we have an even bigger atmospheric river moving in Tuesday night through the end of the week, this one with high winds predicted to add to the joy. Hope we get out of this "event" without losing power due to fallen trees on power lines. Soil is so saturated, the concrete floor of the workshop is wet from moisture spreading underneath the building! Bracing for more local roads/pastures/ etc. flooding from this big new storm!

The storm that starts here tomorrow is predicted to bring 1.7 inches of rain on one of the two days. That is a lot of rain for here.

Lake Shasta is almost full! If we get more storms like this, they might have to release from the top of the Dam. The spillway has not been open for a long time.
