The Old Folks Home

Hi @ShrekDawg!

We have 2-3" of heavy wet snow on the ground, and it's still coming down. It freaked out the chickens, that's for sure. The wind is from the SE, the one direction that will blow an appreciable amount of snow into the run. Enough to cover part of the ground, but it'll melt this afternoon, probably.

Good Morning Old Folks. Nippy cold here this morning but the sun is going to shine some today and the high here is supposed to be 71°.
Nippy here too but sunny as well. Only gonna get to 38° though. 28° now but feels like of 19°. 😭😭😭 slightly warmer in the sun though. Gorgeous day.

79 for today's high, with a low of 55 tonight. No rain is called for.
Quacker-Sparkles, my duck, and I went around yesterday. Around twice a year, she seems to challenge me for a couple days. Yesterday morning she bit me good, and took out a chunk of skin. I grabbed the pool noodle, and whacked her with it, then chased her around for awhile. Yesterday afternoon, she came after me again, but I had the pool noodle ready, and whacked at her before she could get me, then chased her around with it some more. So far this morning, she has been good, but aloof. The pool noodle I speak of, is one of those foam ones you get at the dollar store. It can't really hurt her, but using it like a rooster stick scares her, and gets her back in line pretty quickly. Of course, the object is not to hurt her, but get her back in line, so she's not hurting me. The pool noodle serves the purpose well.
