The Old Folks Home

pies and such just made in a ramkin without any crust.
I do that when I make hubby's lemon meringue pie. Or pumpkin pie. I have found a GF crust in the store that he "doesn't hate." But he said it kind of ruined the pie experience for him, so I won't buy it again.
Serano and jalapeno is our limit.
We had some jalapenos this last weekend that you would have sworn were plain ol' green peppers. No heat at all. Store bought, and yes, they were definitely jalapenos, as the person who bought them knows about peppers.

Hubby likes things MUCH hotter than I can stand. I grow habaneros for his salsa.

There are mild as bells jalapenos that you can buy seed for. I'm surprised they didn't have a sign saying mild Jalapenos on them. I've got family that eats them only. I prefer the hot ones as they are not hot my my standards. I've tried habaneros and don't like the taste of them. I may plant some of the mild jalapenos next year to see if my wife likes them. Her sister does. We put red jalapenos that are the hot once in peach syrup for topping pork chops with. Everybody likes that in the family including the bland eaters.
