The Old Folks Home

Hubby has been complaining about the heat, but we. got. NOTHING! to. complain. about! We're going to get to the upper 80s/near 90 by next weekend.

Yeah, that's hot. It'll be humid, but he'll hide in the house with the A/C.
He would really have something to complain about if he was here. It was 98 with a feel like of 108 on my porch in the shade! Than the good Lord for AC that works!

Guess we are at 94 here the air conditioner will keep the house
68.
We set ours to 80F.

My bill would be close to a thousand dollars If I set at 68F...and it would likely not be able to get it to that temp. The claim is that AC can only cool down to 20F below the outside temp. Saturday we were at 115F in Woodland.

So it'll be 95 in the house? I'd be out under a shade tree catching a breeze.

Mine are new style heat pumps-- I have 5 zones and they work a little better. We were able to keep the house at 82 on Saturday. Sunday was better-- I has to fix one of the zones and finished the work in the morning. We were able to get the house down to 78F that day with no trouble.

Most ACs will go to 100% energy use at 20 degrees over the outside temperature and will cost a lot of money to run.

Back in the early 2000's, we had a similar heat storm that lasted more than a week. The Electricity bill wat $700.00 for that month!

PGE has one of the top three electricity rates in the country.
