The Old Folks Home

It's pitiful. My rheumatologist puts in his notes on the computer that he spent a lot of time with me, when it was actually 5 minutes. I need a new guy, but not many around.
Here getting a rheumatologist is next to impossible. If possible we may get one down in FL.

Y'all are doing great getting all this gardening done. Sure have more get up and go than I have.
We finished planting the tomato and pepper project today. Wanted go back out now and plant the fall bean crop. Going to have to do it very early in the morning as tomorrow is another heat advisory day. I came in today seeing stars. It got way to hot to soon. I didn't realize it as I was focused on what was getting done. The heat index was 110°. Going to be the same tomorrow. It will only take an hour to finish planting the beans and a couple of rows of peas in the morning before I come in for a shower and a nap.

Ma picked the peas earlier to day and has already shelled them. She got enough from the gleaning for a couple of weeks more. We should have enough to keep us in peas until we can plant and harvest next spring. A couple more rows in the fall garden will be good insurance.

The point of this post, is to encourage everyone to pay attention, and learn to advocate for yourself.
My neighbor who had a heart attack has learned that too. The specialists pay attention to "just their thing."

She was on an anti-nausea med. She didn't realize that's what it was at first. She was talking to a dietician who asked her about "her nausea." She wasn't having any nausea. They just put her on it as a matter of course. One med off the list, anyway.

On the flip side, our friend who had lymphoma said she had excellent care, right from the beginning. Everyone was paying attention and they all communicated.

How is your friend with lymphoma? Still trudging along I trust.

How is your friend with lymphoma?
Cured! :wee :clap

It could come back, but for now, she is cured. One resulting issue: the lymph nodes on her left side are totally and permanently trashed. She has a lot of fluid retention issues with her left arm. A compression sleeve helps.
