The Old Folks Home

Are you wishing you had spent your youth in long sleeves and giant hats?
I spent the summer of 1976 lying in the sun, most of the time. Then I got fat and was too ashamed to be seen, so I didn't spend much time in the sun.

About that time, they figured out what a lot of sunshine does to your skin, and I went to college, and I spent less time outside.

Now I wear long sleeves (white shirt) and a big floppy hat. At my yearly physical, the doctor says my skin looks great.

The PA used to positively gush over my skin. "I'll see people 30 years younger whose skin doesn't look this nice!"

The wife of my husband's boss paid me a wonderful compliment that caught me totally off guard. She asked me, "What do you use on you skin? It looks so smooth and young!" Um... nothing? I stay out of the sun...? And I don't smoke or drink alcohol...?

Yeah, sweating in a long sleeve shirt is worth it. :thumbsup Besides, sweating cleans out your pores.:gig

So true!

You can clearly tell what body parts I covered and what body parts I didn't!
