Yesterday was bedridden along with a trip to the doc. Unknown source for a nasty sore throat. Test shows that it is not from strep or covid this time. A swab sample was taken for a lab to examine. Should know something by early next week. Meanwhile I've stopped working until the temp gets down to an actual 92°. Right now it is 96° in the shade of the front porch. Old Man Summer of 2025 is not going down without a fight.

We need rain too. I'm to the point that I don't care whose parade it rains on, who has an outdoor wedding planned. I'd go do a rain dance under the moon if I knew how to do one.

I've watered a few perennial things in the garden (rhubarb, black raspberry bushes) just so that they hang on.

Good morning, Larry. Feeling okay today? Hope so.

Not bedridden but still being careful with my back... Can't take any meds that help because of the the side effects they bring... They make foods that are being processed into an organic cement. Not doing much today other than prep the grill for an all day long slow smoke job tomorrow on a Boston Butt for pulled pork to use in the coming week. Will be doing chores with Ma's help mid afternoon. Working now to automate the watering systems in all coops so we still check the coops to insure that all is working but no longer the filling and scrubbing of the 5 gallon galvanized tanks. We can no longer just open the coops and let the kids roam free in the afternoons as the boys have reached the age they are feeling those hormones that come with age. Got to keep hatching eggs pure.

It's only 86° now and sunny. Not many hours of 90+ left now for the year. Our highs should me mid 80's by Oct. Elec bill will drop like a lead ball too soon.

My internal clock says after I put the chickens to bed, it's time for me to go to bed too. 9:30+ in June, when it gets dark. Now it's dark before 8 pm! And my body still says, hey, I'm tired so let's call it a day.

Goodnight Old Folks. Ma says I have Cardiac Testing in the morning. Don't know about it but will find out when I get there. Rather be home playing with the chicks in the brooder. Have 10 55 Flowery Hens in the brooder. Cute little feathery balls they are.
