That might work but most of them I have seen wouldn't hold regular sized eggs without breaking them. The hole in most noodles is small but I have seen bigger holes in some. Probably the smaller holes come from the dollar stores and the ones with the bigger holes come from someplace like Walmart. Now that I know about this, I will look for them. But, you know if they were cut into 2" chunks or at least smaller chunks like that, it might not be hard to carve the hole bigger. You can buy those noodles at Dollar Tree for a dollar.

Lesson learned - when you let the chickens out of their run, check that you didn't leave a labrador in the yard. The mash was apparently delicious, all 2 liters of it. We had to induce vomiting with salt.

Oh, yes. Being a woman that's not one of the things I notice in the hardware store but I do believe I have seen them. I think my husband bought some once a long time ago. I will have to go in there and do a deliberate search for them so I won't forget again.
