Not something you want gulping around an active dogs stomach.

Sorry for the graphic pictures, but I thought I'd post this as a warning.

Chicken food is bad for dogs? My dogs are not allowed outside. They take off.
Not in small amounts, but a large amount of anything, especially something that swells, can be lethal. I've once assisted the better half in operating on a German Shepherd that had been playing with children immediately after consuming a way too large meal. We were elbow deep in guts, and I had to pour water into it's stomach through a tube, and the suck out the watered down food mash back up (If you've ever stolen gasoline from a car, it's the same principal, yuck). He had gotten his stomach twisted around itself, we had to twist it back in place and reattach it to the stomach lining. Not something we want to do on our own dogs.

Gosh its been a long time as I reuse it for shipping overseas.

I found it http://www.texaspoultry.com/foam.htm

The 24 egg size fits 2 to a flat rate box. I get 3 rows in the larger non flat rate box. 3 boxes in a golf bag 216 eggs lol

The shipping on the foam makes it pricey because of its size not weight.

I have several other sizes as well. The 24 hole is good for large and extra large eggs.

There is another supplier that sells white foam with 36 holes that is good for medium eggs. I can't remember if I bought that or I just received eggs in it. I use that often as well but size to eggs.

I like the Texas poultry foam because the holes are off set so you can reverse the second row and the eggs don't put pressure on each other.

If you try and squeeze a large egg into the 36 hole stuff they may crack in shipping from side pressure.

If I wasn't reusing it I would probably ship using cylinders of foam pipe insulation. That's one of the best methods I have seen.

What size for the foam insulation? I need to get Basque eggs form Pa to La in Sept. The last batch was scrambled except for 2. I thought about sending a little extra money and having him put in some maple syrup and labeling it.

I think the political, security and social structure is in such turmoil with new people claiming to be in charge with no consideration of what it takes to run a government and civil society, all hope for proper action was lost. It is a war zone after all.

In 1981 I was in a class for mid grade officers and there was a section on foreign affairs. They said that when the Eastern Bloc breaks up there would be problems in the Balkans and without the major powers polarizing world politics there would be chaos in the third world. At the time the breakup of the Eastern Bloc seemed ridiculous but I am still amazed at the accuracy of their predictions.

PC UPS = Personal Computer Uninterruptable Power Supply.

Basically, it sits between the power socket and whatever you want to keep running for a shortish period of time when the power cuts. It has a deep cell battery in it which remains charged; depending on the size, it can run a computer (or similar) anywhere from minutes to hours.

The basic idea behind them is that when the power cuts they keep your computer running long enough to save anything you are working on and log off rather than the PC just crashing and losing work.

Those small ones work great for things that loose all of their settings when the power drops for a few seconds so that you don't have to go back and set everything. Just turn the beepers off so they don't wake you up in the middle of the night.

Someone named their incubator. LOL

Yeh, you betcha we name the important contributors in our lives. A good friend of mine calls "hers" Bertha...mine has always been "Buster" (with a whole lotta troubles bustin' out!). High velocity fanned Sportsman we bought new in 2007...before that, we only natural hatched ALL our poultry...

Buster has enabled us...indeed!

Buster the Bator

Load up Buster...

Buster is a little off kilter mostly but that's what's special about him!
lol.png

Steer clear but hydrate him daily and let him do his work...very important work keeping the family of feathered fiends on the GROW! LOL

So yeh, that is Buster...Maybe y'all need to also meet...

Stan the stately Man

Stanley's my stainless brooder...which I have been busy getting prepared to step up and brood the first of my chicken chick hatch from the middle of July.

Stanley - he's a stainless steel therapy tub that was a chattel left behind when a sports clinic vacated a rental space in the city. We were very happy to welcome him here and he replaced a tall horse waterer of about the same size...we love Stanley and well, he's just prettier than a galvanized water tub. My fav colour is chrome, eh? Never enough sparkly jewellery like items in a woman's life!

Stan is AWESOME just like many of the men I know that are GREAT with youngun's...no fuss, no muss, rarely any gooey goo goo's to be distracted by with men looking after the lil' folks. They make rearing the widdle ones look so easy, sensible and efficient!

I love my MEN...my hard working MEN AT WORK!
