I was kind of afraid to mention it. We were getting a bit dry and I know a lot of you are very dry.

We have not had any rain in a couple of months. We had a huge limb fall on our new pens the end that is not finished yet but we have to replace the wire.

We had 7 in of rain on Monday!

It's normally pretty wet around here at this time of year, so I doubt the records show anything unusual, but we've hardly had a day without at least one good shower in it in about a month. Can't really complain, though - the stalled frontal system that kept us so soggy last week also kept Hurricane Bertha offshore - gotta take the good with the mosquitoes, eh?

I was just kidding, we joke a lot on this thread.

2 days ago I removed a large mulberry limb that came down in a snow storm and smashed the side of a chain link run and more branches came down on the coop yesterday.
Note to self, build coops in the shade of big trees, not under big trees.
I really don't have much choice. The whole property is big trees except the garden.

I have got to share because I "can't" share on FB yet. My daughter told me this past weekend that she is pregnant with our first grandchild!

I am honestly really happy to be a grandma for the first time. I thought I might not like the idea of someone calling me "Grandma" but I just have visions of spoiling this child (and all others that come along the way) horribly and giving them back to their parents. I can't wait!

I am not allowed to share the news yet because they have not told her fiancée's mom yet. She told me that they were going to wait until Christmas. Hmmmmm 6 months pregnant? Not gonna last that long. In fact I told her I wasn't going to make it to Christmas so they needed to change their plans.

In the mean time, I got a new lens yesterday and had a little fun with it. Can't wait to take it out for a full spin this weekend.

Love that first photo..I thought someone had found a pretty photo to share. Well, I guess they did..it was you..but I thought it had been found on the net somewhere. Nice.
