The Old Folks Home

In California they try very hard to get people into bidding wars for houses. When we bought our house we were in a hurry as the rental we were in had to be cleared in thirty days. We offered the full asking price as at the time there were many bidding wars going on.

The owner, instead of accepting our offer, wanted us to raise it by about $15,000-$20,000. I suggested that instead of raising it, I was going to reduce the offer by $1,000/day that he delayed acceptance.

We had the acceptance.

ROFL I love it!

We went to buy and old farmhouse, I fell in love with it and right across the dirt road was a creek that my kids could go play in but the jerk who owned it led us to believe we would get it and then backed out and said he didn't want to go through VA. I think we were probably lucky because when the house got inspected it probably wouldn't have met the VA requirements. He knew from the start that we were going with the VA.

I'm just gonna sit over here by my lonesome till y'all are done with politics. Two reasons I don't discuss either politics or religion...1. Both are very personal to me and 2. I don't like the way it makes people all mad at each other. So I'm gonna start a pot of coffee, break out the Kailua look at pictures of y'all's chickens.
...

Great attitude.
I'll be happy to send you the same pdf that I sent Bama on how to process.

Whenever I see a rooster with a nasty 'tude I think of Renee Zellweger in Cold Mountain.
She made quick work of it.
I think anyone planning to butcher for the first time needs to watch that scene.

Great but sad movie, by the way.

When we were looking to buy a house, we found one that we liked, and hired an inspector to go through it.

His report?

He said that after looking at the wiring, the walls, and the structural integrity, his conclusion that if we bought it, we should offer it to the fire department as a practice burn.

Well, we really didn't have quite enough money to buy the place, and since we would be buying it and then having to spend the money to build a house......well, we passed.

I absolutely agree!

I just yesterday brought home a beat up, well worn old rocker that I got from an auction that looks perfect on my back porch. May I drag it over to the corner and join you, please?

The first house I was under contract for, the VA saved me too. They appraised it below what we were under contract for because of issues. We did not buy that house.

I physically cringed with what they did to Kathy Baker's character with the fence posts in Cold Mountain. I work with my hands and just was nauseous.
