The Old Folks Home

NPIP man was at my place today! I'm officially clean and clear and will get my number in the mail (at some point.) He was very knowledgable and quick to share his knowledge. He also said that there were only two NPIP certified non-commercial farms in my area that he knows of and both raise bantams! I am a LF girl, myself, so I guess I will have to get eggs shipped if I want breeder quality birds.

SCG bring both cameras (phone and which ever else). Maybe we can figure out why your "good" one takes funny pics?

@ROn--- handsome boy, love his colors!! Girls are just as pretty!
I.do.not.like.Starbucks but I love coffee if it's a mild roast. When Starbucks did finally come out with Blonde, it's tolerable but took them too long IMO. I was trained by my grandmother to drink coffee so it needs half and half and sugar/sweetener. Years ago didn't use to have trouble finding mild roast in the stores and then the dark (burnt) crowd came along and messed it all up. Only in the past year have I begun to find mild in the grocery stores and then it's one can here and there if at all possible. Don't care for flavored coffee or creamer. Makes me picky I know.
I love coffee. Hate Dunkin Donuts, like mud and too much water. Will do MacDonalds. NEver had Starbucks-- too expensive to bother with $6. DId have a super delish at Barnes&Nobles peppermint late yum! I used to suck down 6 cups a day. NOw? Its decaf and 1-2 cups a month. I"m a party pooper!!

I like teas, but I don't like Chia. I just dion't see the attraction. Supposed to be healthier, but I like green and white teas for that. I think I could learn to be a tea snob. I don't like the store bough flavored creamers though. they talk like chemicals to me. No offence SCG. hehe

Dropping of my little roo today was hard for me. I think maybe tonight my coffee will have Kahlua in it!
I'm with you-- CHia-- YUCK. My mother loves it so I have made a point to try it. I pass when ever possible. I do drink a lot of green tea, and white when I remember to buy it! I love the creamers but skip them and go for the real cream and lots of it in my coffee, never in the tea.

Sorry

-- make it a shot of kahlua tonight!

Quote: GOod job!!! Great feeling isn't it? I'm a LF girl too-- I really can't see the attraction ( or usefulness of the bantam) unless we can make the mini eggs into a luxury specialty item at high end breakfast cafes?

I think they would sell in New York Breakfast Boutiques. They could be soft fried and served on half a biscuit (they would just fit) with a sprig of dill and a slice of tomato as a garnish and a cup of green tea. It would be packaged to go for commuters and cost $20 exactly (no change to wait for.) We would get rich!

Woo hoo! Miss Sparkle laid an egg today!

She's been free ranging in the office, hasn't made her way into the rest of the house yet. She's quite a shy little silkie. Her former owners rehomed her because she got picked on by "the bigger girls.". She is half the size of Punkin BO, only two-thirds the size of Beth BR, but they don't frighten her any more. She's also used to Lizbeth the cat now... And almost calm about the two dogs which come in to visit when I check on her.

She decided the brooder bin was the best place to lay her egg. Her Egg Song was quite loud. Apparently she's a non-broody silkie... Which is okay. (I have two, maybe three hens in the flock which are broody right now.)

As for coffee, I drink Donut House that I buy in bulk at Sam's, it's much cheaper than buying K-cups 12 at a time (LOVE my keurig!) I do buy the green tea a dozen at a time because I can't find it in bulk. I'm having Tazo Zen right now!

Go Sparkle, go Sparkle, go Sparkle.....

I so envy that you have a broody right now!! I've been collecting speckled sussex eggs, at about 2 dozen right now and would love a broodie to take over the incubating job. ANd the rearing job as I want these to be great foragers.

I certainly hope my coffee lecture didn't scare Tick. I was gonna say tick Tick off, but didn't wanna push it.

I kill myself. I have no one in real life to joke with anymore and sometimes in print, it just ain't the same.

Linda I got another Sumatra egg, burried in mud today. Just like yesterday. Nice when you have her right there to deliver for you. hehe They have a muddy pen. I don't know why, but I guess I need to haul another heavy bag of sand home and make them comfy. It's the only pen that gets really muddy and often. My BBS AMs can muddy things up a bit, but not like these crazy birds.

I don't like milk or cream anywhere near my tea. My 2 youngest daughters don't drink it often, but they can't drink it without. YUCK!

In coffee is fine, but oh no, not teas. I guess I'm lucky that you can find just about any type of tea here. Even at the dollar stor they'll have green tea. Bill bought me green tea with lemon grass once and I told him it sounded nasty. Well it wasn't, so I buy it now too.
