DH has ridden only once and swore "Never again!" due to heuvos smasheros. However, we've moved to "The Horse Capital of New Mexico" and he has stated that IF I ever get a horse, he'd like to take riding lessons (so it won't be so painful) to go riding off into the sunset together. This means, of course, two horses to upkeep AND reconfiguring my veggie area, plus I'd have to have the desire and knees to want to undertake this venture. But, nonetheless, I thought his gesture sweet.

it comes with the territory but also can be diminished with good training for both horse and rider.

Cotton Jockys.... NO boxers.... at first. Containment, fresh air, Short rides. The McClellan saddle is not only coool looking but designed for men. and for anyone who needs to spend long hours in the saddle.


I used to know a woman who built them for Calvary reenactments.... The human form has changed in size since cavalry days. So has the size of the horses... Bigger people wider horses. But I truly love the style and fit and the way the girthing is done on a McClellan.

but hay a good saddle is going to be comfortable no matter what. Learning to post the trot is also helpful western or english...

He could also be Homozygus.... breeds to his coloring every time. Paint though is a designation requiring they be Quarter horse.... Pinto can be any breed. Same colors.

I'm not seeing the ermine spots for the Homozygous on him. (Dime-sized or bigger stand-alone spots in the white, a telltale color throwing marking) I bet he throws black ones, too.

Very pretty horse nonetheless. LOVE the leg streaking.

chickens and color.... as you know Albinoism occurs in all species.... But there is an opposite.... Melanism

Their skin is black.... even the inside of their mouths are black and so are their muscles.

Silkys carry these traits to some degree.

It's 2:30 am and DH and I just got back from picking up DS#1 at a wreck scene. No one was hurt, thankfully, and the truck is not totaled. We were very, very lucky. I hope he learned that you have to be constantly careful, it is a lesson that sometimes has to be learned by trial and error, rather than Mom's lectures. I won't be sleepy for a while.......

Sorry to hear about your son's accident Wisher. Glad nobody was hurt. A vehicle can be easily replaced. Have a cup of tea and try to remain calm. Sleep will eventually come.
