{Shudder}

I have heard of feasts where a camel was stuffed with goats that were stuffed with sheep that were stuffed with fowl.

I have heard of geese stuffed with ducks stuffed with chickens stuffed with quail.

And there is nothing like having all of those eyeballs looking at you in an Arab market.

We harvested our first parsnips and carrots today.

Together with some homegrown potatoes, some onion, a bit of venison and some Koskenlaskija cheese (sort of a cream cheese, made mostly out of aged emmental) it's going to make for a lovely soup/stew in the evening.

In all honesty, they didn't want me to get chickens at all.  They don't care about the eggs.  Just as soon buy them at the store.  I, however, will be cooking my birds and eating the most delicious meals ever and thumbing my nose at their take out.   And my muscovies.    :lau   I'd really love to do the Duck curing into  ham.

Oh man, they are missing out. it all taste better, eggs, meat etc.
next year I will suck it up and butcher the ducks, I hear it's amazing meat. My DH was a vegetarian when I started doing this homesteading thing now he eats fish,chicken, turkey, next stop duck. :)
