3000 shanty homes were destroyed by shoddy electrical wiring in just one home last week in Bacolod city all because of poor code enforcement.

While not being sound dwellings, they were the roofs of 12500 people. Lost with them were all their possessions and food.

It would take less than a generation for a US city to have similar situations if we have up zoning and code enforcement.

I think the lumber industry had something to do with the downfall of hemp also.
