The Old Folks Home

And I have the two nest boxes, but they are big for bantams, so I am thinking that 2 can maybe fit in one box....but we will see. I like the way the nest boxes turned out. The upper one has two open sides, with a lip to hold in the hay. The bottom one is much darker, with only one small opening. Now I forget how big they are..... I think just over 12 inches deep and 18 inches wide. The bottom one 10.5 inches tall, and the upper one is taller, maybe 12 inches.

Sounds like you got 'blessed"' with males - probably snack size, or good finger food. You know how chicken math goes "If you get a roo replace it with two"(pullets)

I'm here, Bama, just later than usual. I had an interesting day. I woke up at 3:30am to drive to Henagar, Alabama to purchase a LGD. I got this little cutie.....er.......I mean this ferocious beast to one day protect the flock. We stopped on the way home to bathe him at Petco's self bath because he was covered in fleas. He's all clean, flea free, and fluffy now, though. He is Anatolian, Akbash, and Great Pyrenees in his background. He should be a good guardian when he is about two. We have an appointment for shots, worming, and such on Monday morning.

Then, about 10:00pm, I was going out to check on him when I noticed a 'possum in the chicken coop. I yelled for someone to bring a gun, while I held it in the beam of my flashlight and stood by with a big stick to club it if it tried to run. It didn't run and DH ran out and shot it...twice. We looked and looked and have yet to find how it got into the coop, One thing I know for sure, though, it won't get in again.

Wow what a cute little guard dog! Wishing I could get another puppy... But not able at the moment... maybe in few years. Glad you got that varmint taken care of before any damage was done to the flock!

I used to sell custom replacement windows for houses, and the sliders only open so far for security reasons, so no one can slide the window open all the way to break in/sneak out lol. And different windows sliders, casement, single/double hung for air flow/ventilation based on layout of tge home width: 200px; height: 267px">

I just got back from a wedding of a BYC buddy. She and her fiance have been together 3 yrs.   The peacher said, "Doug, do you finally, FINALLY take this woman to be your wife?"    :lau    The whole place broke up.   The grooms cake had hunting gear on it  saying something like "She finally got her man"  :plbb

Three years is long? I'd say that's a sane amount of time to wait... I can't understand people who get married after three months or something. Better to get to know the person. Coming up on ten years with the better half now, still living a life of sin.
