The Old Folks Home

I do agree with vehve that it makes a completely different taste. Tasty but not the real meat flavor.

I love the word tasty for a number of reasons.
I used to try to get my kids to try new things. They'd balk. I'd say, "go ahead and eat it, it's tasty."
After several months of this, one evening I said the same thing and my 3 year old son wasn't buying it. He said, "I don't like tasty."

Cute
When my little guy likes something he says
"That good eats"

I still think a light smoke on the duck would be perfection.

This conversation has triggered a weird flashback - anybody remember the elephant jokes of the 60's?

Q. Why do ducks have webbed feet?

A. To stamp out forest fires.

Why do elephants have flat feet?

A. To stamp out burning ducks.

Why is there a fence around the cemetery?

People are dying to get in.

That was my favorite joke as a kid (apparently I was always a bit morbid).

Then I moved to Maine. We don't have fences around our cemeteries up here. I don't know why. And there's little family plots all over the place. I love exploring them.

My anesthetist scrub hats were a hit today.

And it's going to snow tonight.

Nothing here is in need of insemination except the goats, and I think I'm going to skip their mating again this year, although baby goats are cute and I want the milk... just don't have the time.

That's the update from my little world.

I bought a Boar/Nubian buck last trip to breed a bit of size into my girls. With the 4 doelings this year I now have 8. Some of the doelings are as big as their mothers at 5 months.
