hang in there.

Oh its just the cathartic of doing something toward freedom... for me... Packing makes an impact for her... Win win for me...LOL. we are masters at the passive aggressive here. unfortunately... I even bought curtains for the house... those cheepo paper kind that glue on with a strip of adhesive... (need to do that any way) I have three sliding glass doors to cover in the house but there are two that give you a really good look see inside. Those I got blue tarps for.

If I leave I will have to find work some where... Bout the only work I am good for right now physically would be at the good will or something like teaching.... I could teach CAD or drafting...

Alaskan you've got something there - it would be pretty messy though to cover yourself in bacon and it would attract coyotes and dogs and stuff. Brandishing pig's feet should do it too.

wow... been MIA longer than I thought... 100+ pages read over the past 4 hours. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Great group, good reads, some provocation and much hysterics :) Need to lurk more frequently as it's now coming up on 2am and sleep is a necessity... I don't have the luxury of being able to nap at will, much as that prospect appeals to me. I retired once, really looking forward to doing so again :) Well wishes to all.

I was trying to think what would impress a Jewish vampire - a Star of David, perhaps? A Menorah? :idunno

An amulet with the names of angels writ upon it. It's in ...the Talmud? One of the other writings?

Lilith, Adam's first wife, was supposed to have been a vampire. The amulet protects against her. One of the legends is that one of her children was Grendel's mother who was fathered by Cain after he killed Abel and left The Garden. There- did that wander enough?

Morning old folks! Time to rise and shine, and make hay! Lol
Good lord what am I saying, stay in bed it's cold! Toss and turn enough that maybe the spouse will get up and make the coffee this morning.

A pigskin leather jacket would be less messy, most likely just as effective, and have the advantage of providing warmth (kinda important on a day like this)!

I used to know a lot of those but never saw the complete list. I think I heard them about 30 years ago.

It looks like he got trampled under the heat lamp. I caught it shortly after it had happened apparently. I looked him over, not pecked. Just dead. I cleaned out the brooder box. Moved the heat lamp further away. Moved out the pans of dirt for the night. It looked like he might have suffocated.
Was he one of those that had had surgery? How old was he?
I guess with ACemanis you don't have a choice but to supply a little heat.
You might think of a building you can insulate and add a heat source that would make it more efficient and effective than heat lamps. All you probably need to do is keep the temp above the mid 20s. If I lived where it got that cold for that long and just had to have a more delicate breed, I'd probably build a building specifically for winter where I could do some forced fresh air ventilation and heat that air.

Oh Oz, now you're just flirting.

Beat me, hurt me, show me you care>

typo - gold=golf lol
I couldn't understand that joke with gold.
Darn auto correct.

It's ok. I'm learning still. I check on everyone every hour or two, and I noticed something not right. So I decided to be csi chicken scene investigator and saw he looked like he had gotten suffocated. It's a bummer for sure. But I am over run with roosters. And to make it worse my bf hurt his hand pretty bad tonight. And one of my scovy ducks has a bloody tail. While we're in the middle of a cold snap of -14f type of weather.

It looks like I will be hopefully meeting my goal of only going into winter with 3 ducks, now to cull 5 tomorrow along with all my excess roosters. I guess I will try to get as many done as I can. And the dumb heated water buckets and thermostat plug in things I ordered on amazon aren't here yet, and they're supposed to have been here today. Dang it dang it. I'm trying to be prepared. I'm obviously failing at it atm.
I'm glad it's not sub zero here yet. Still, I have to bring in all the water founts every night so they're usable in the morning.
I need to cull a bunch too. I keep putting it off. I like doing it when the temp is a little above freezing so I guess that's an excuse to wait another week.

This will be a late answer but, can't help it. I still have 5 -6 more pages to read and I don't want to forget. I saw a movie ages ago called "In Search of the Vampire killers," or something like that with Sharon Tate, They held out the cross and one vampire just laughed and said he was Jewish. So apparently it doesn't work on them and I would imagine they would only want blood from a kosher person. The average person wouldn't have to fear them in that case.
Didn't vampire legends begin around Transylvania? That would make them the antithesis of Christian.
Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. are probably safe unless they were bitten?
Bacon idea would work for the first 2, maybe a cowbell for the third.

Good to see you back.

I'm usually up around 4 or 5. I was awake at 4 watched a little news but rolled over and went back till 7. Don't know why I was so tired.
This is for the Aussie people on the thread. I saw on the news that your temps are getting up around 40C. Highest November temps in about 50 years. Just in time for the G20 summit.
Also relating to the summit, I saw that Russia has several warships in international waters just off of your northeast coast, maybe to guard Putin.
The Canadian Prime Minister told Putin he'd shake his hand if he got out of Ukraine. Putin apparently got an earful out of most of the heads of state. Ukraine is preparing for war.
Related stories on the news Russia had a sub off of Sweden's coast and the US intercepted Russian bombers off the coasts of Alaska and California.
