Wisher I am so sorry!

@superchemicalgirl He was the only one I saw, but I will be watching the others closely.

I have culled chicks that were cross beaked, had pulled cords, etc. but this was the first adult bird. Too bad I can't process him, that's my next step.

Well, I guess my next step is killing a healthy bird.

Good point, I'll come shopping then. I'll see if I can still walk in heels

. The pet store will surly have birds of sort, if not chickens. Then we must stock the bar! A little something from every country we stop should be in the bar I think...
Heck you don't need no stinkin' heels. I go for comfort. Since I no longer work at the bank, I don't have to wear no stinkin' heels.
Oh yes maybe two somethings. Or three. Wine , beer and liquer. From each. After all we must taste test fairly.

Maybe I can get some bird of prey to train to fetch. I better build a seperate aviary for it.

@chickadoodles Thanks for sharing chicka. Now I won't be #15 .

@chickwhispers My DH would have done it if I had asked him, but I decided it was my job. My chickens, my responsibility. Sooner or later, it would have been necessary and he would not be available. Now, if I ask him to do it, I will know it is not because I can't. You know, I don't know if I will be able to enjoy eating one of my own birds that I have raised, killed, and processed, but I want to know that for sure. I feel that I am being hypocritical by eating chicken (and enjoying it) but not being willing to eat mine. My first step toward that end was selling birds for slaughter, which I now do. Now I need to actually eat one of my own, even if I don't process it myself. I won't stop until I've learned where I actually stand on the matter. If I find that I can't enjoy eating my own, I will not feel bad for buying chicken. If I find that I prefer my own birds, it will be easier to process them.

I just took a drive. It was very surrealistic. There were many stores boarded up like a Cat 4 hurricane was coming.
It was interesting what types of places closed, what was open and what were boarded. Just around my area the most commonly boarded places were Dollar General, Family Dollar, beauty and nail salons.
The closer I got to Ferguson, the more types of places were boarded. Sam's club, Walmart, Office Depot, Walgreens type places were closed. Walgreens around here are normally open 24/7. About half of the businesses normally open at this time of night were closed. Most bars and restaurants were open. Closer to Ferguson, most were boarded but still open.
Virtually everything is boarded up near Ferguson, Jennings and Dellwood. I didn't go to Berkeley. Kinloch or places on the other side of Ferguson.

@Wisher1000 I took 6 roos my first year for processing. Ended up couldn't eat them. Sometime down the road I'd like to try some meat birds. I'll need a separate coop and run. Temporary though. Since that would be the intended use I think I'll be ok with it. But that's a bit in the future. I applaud your being able. that's awesome. I'm just getting to the point where I don't panic if one gets sick. So I'm getting there; just not yet.

I remember as a kid, the riots in Detroit. My grandparents didn't live very far from some of it. We lived in the burbs. It was kind of surreal. Hope you and your family are safe and no bad things happen in MO.
