The Old Folks Home

SCG they flew in yesterday so I am assuming they won't cancel. It is not supposed to snow that bad and they were urged to rent a 4X4 vehicle. DH has some of those ice grippers he just bought. His don't fall off and work pretty good. Are yours metal or rubber?

Good morning my fellow peeps.

another sunny yet coldish day in eastern NC . I could always do with less wind which makes it 10 degrees colder.

Well the chicken math fever is in high Bloom as more stores and hatcheries put out their chick day sales....
Remember, you can always visit said places , look at the fuzzy butts, savor the fuzzy butts and then walk away..
Even better is just don't visit any place that has them and if you need feed, play the old person card and have some young thing (male or female, your choice) get it and place it in your car or truck. For you younger peeps, esp the ladies, do that cute smile, forget to button a couple of buttons and have said young stuff service you.... Us guys will just have to sweet talk the sweet young ladies and of course show just enough lust so not to get arrested but enough that the said young sweet thing feels she is HOT and has it. works best on middle age ladies, (30s and above esp)... as with guys, they can be pudding in the right hands.....

smiles..

.

That was you ticks survival tip of the day.....

Now everyone enjoy their day, wither you want o or not.....

SCG - I would never suggest you dip your ice grips in hot water and then put them on your boots to cool, as they might shrink too much, but we left a pair of off brand crocks in the bed of the truck one hot summer day and they shrunk two sizes. I filed it away in my brain for future reference, and thought I would share it with you......proceed at your own risk.

TICK - That may work sometime, but it could backfire on you and cause you to get a label you don't want..........just sayin'.

I was just thinking that it's a good thing tick included the age restriction there. Once upon a time, I was "too young to be flattered, and too old to be fooled" - fortunately, I was also too nice to say what I really thought. Lots of girls aren't, these days.

Now I'm just old enough to know better, but too old to care . . . .

Wisher. everytime I have been labeled, I just change gears. Most people know me as that crazy old nut fool and I like that. . Some know me as a very smart person who knows the ropes. others just stay away, which is good for me cause I don't like them anyways.
But most know me as a person that sees a sad face and goes out of his way to bring a smile to that face...

I like having no one know the true me. Everyone gets or think they know a part of me but only one person gets and know most of it all...

I worried about labels when I was young and dumb but not for long cause I already knew I marched to a different drummer. Now days, I really don't care what people think. After most people realize that, things are ok, you can deal with me or not. I really don't care...

as Bunnylady kind of says......

I just had to mention that reading another thread about cats invading the coop, some one suggested using a Paintball gun to ward off the critters.

Now, I would have never thought of that. kind of lets the owner or make it easy to id a critter that has been where they should not be...

Who says the younger generation is really dumb, well beside me....

talk about a splash chicken after the spray off....

ok, back outside for my own protection.

a paintgun, mmm, I would really get in trouble then. Car throws garbage on the street, shot them, shoots any teenagers just because. catches someone on the property that should not be there. shoot them. Yes, the cops would be here faster than when , oh never mind....

Hoppy from Maine recommends a paintball gun for wayward dogs. Sends a very clear message to the owner - it was in my sights and I could have done it. You may not be so lucky next time.

I prefer to just SSS.

I don't think it's size that is causing a problem on my crampons. They are very tight. My boots are rubber and the rubber to rubber action is a bit too smooth. They just "slip" right off. I found a pair that clamp on over top, but they're 60$ and I'm worried that they'll come off the ends but not fall all the way off because of the top strap. I'm not sure I'm ready to try them, yet. My elbow is turning a nice purple color. Can't wait to see the road burn down my side and leg later.

I was on the back deck watching the flock get used to the snow when I heard the unmistakable sounds of baby chicks peeping from within the coop. Slipped on the icy snow getting there - good thing I landed on my butt, no twisting as I fell - so I was able to get up and go see the new flock members. Grace, a banty hen mix, has hatched four chicks in her bucket-on-the-wall nest box!

She let me see them. One is definitely a bantam chick, while the other three are LF mix chicks.

I think I may be tender later, when my butt thaws out.
