We've got about 8 to 10 inches of really greasy snow so far and it's going to continue until tomorrow morning. We're hosting Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, and I got my pumpkin pie made. Then we lost power.

It's back now, thankfully, but quickly I ran the vacuum through the house just in case. I mean it would be a total tragedy to have to actually sweep the floor.

I'm also wondering if I can cook a turkey and green bean casserole on the grill while finishing the outside crisp with a blowtorch. We might just find out.
Oh noes. At least it will be an adventure.

Deb, I wish I could send you some rain. We got almost 3" of rain a few nights ago; it's been kinda damp and drizzly since then, and we got another 2" or so today before the front finally came through and dropped the temperature from the lower 70's around dawn to the upper 40's by noon. My horses are up to their fetlocks in mud.

Yeah everybody, Happy Thanksgiving! No matter how much is wrong with our country, it is still the best there is. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. We always have a lot to be thankful for. Sure nice to see little Mattie looking so well and happy! I just made a cranberry sauce with jalapenos in it. Really good. I just hope the rest like it hot!

yep, spouse has been all crazy with cooking...so that I haven't been able to start my part of the cooking... I only made it back to the house at 5:30... and then spouse decided to make the mashed potatoes now.....so spouse would be done with the kitchen and I could start..... huh?

So here it is, 7pm, and I have things to cook..... and those potatoes are still bubbling on the stove .... not sure what I wanna do about it.

If we had to cook on only the wood stove I would just....

I had one thanksgiving where the power was off for a few hours... but we somehow managed to get everything done. it was exciting!

I bought Tylan50 and syringes, cooked two chocolate pies with meringue, made two pans of dressing, two pans of chicken-broccoli-rice-cheese casserole, black eyed peas, and fruit fluff today. Tomorrow, I will cook a ham, turkey, and give the birds their shots. Then I plan to rest.....

I would love muddy fetlocks.... I dont shovel Katees corral... Very big corral... she poos in one or two spots. I am noticing a groove in her bandini mountain and its Jet black like Compost. So that means she is staning in it...

NO CRACKED hooves this year.... Hmmm.... The Blacksmith was stunned.... Katee has had a toe crack (cosmetic) ever since she move To this dry climate. He took one look and said... DO NOT clean that pile of poo out. LOL.

We need a steady ten days or so of a very very soft drizzly rain.... Keeps the freeways safer and lets the water soak in enough to allow more water to soak in.
