CC, when you make a clone drive, you can make it bootable, and it will be an identical copy of your existing drive, HOWEVER, you can only boot from one drive at a time, so you will need to disconnect one of the bootable drives by pulling the SATA cord. If you simply want a backup copy of photos, documents, etc. on a second drive, don't make it bootable, and just copy-paste, or schedule your backup program to backup the files onto the second drive. You can also put Windows on a jump drive, and boot from that, then any hard drives become storage drives.

I'm still waiting to hear from ranchway feeds about the gluten-free feed. Being this gross sick constantly is sucking the joy out of chicken tending.

My flock is seeming to not want their feed fermented atm. So straight up 17% protein all flock pellets it is then with s ratch of cracked corn, boss and oats in the afternoon.

It would be awful to need to get rid of my birds. I would keep the bunnies as their feed is gluten-free, but they aren't as fun to me as my chickens.

not much to say, except I sure hope that things turn up!

That has been commonplace over the years in several Asian countries.

In the last 8 years, India has culled 6.4 million birds.

60 million in Thailand and ALL domestic poultry in Hong Kong.

Many countries aggressively cull ALL backyard and small holders flocks. This is at the urging of large poultry producers who bring in stock husbanded abroad that has no immunity to local pathogens.
IMHO, they're killing many of the strains that are naturally immune or resistant.
Biodiversity down the tubes.
Vietnam, Indonesia and China have relocated smaller poultry producers into poultry production clusters where large producers are located. The idea was to prevent transmission to humans but isn't it the clustering that is the problem with disease transmission?

Gotcha, thanks. I just thought it would be beneficial to have a bootable clone in the machine (disconnected) which would save so much time in the event one had to start over.
For files and photos, it's a simple thing to put them on a flash drive or CD.

I guess you're sure it is the gluten getting into the eggs causing problems?

I recommend limiting the corn, oats and boss to under 10% of the diet.

Have you done anything different with your FF lately?
Is it getting a full ferment? Bubbly and grey on top?

Why couldn't you have several bootable disks in the same machine, and just select which you're using when you boot up? Sort of like having Unix and Windows installed on the same puter, shouldn't be a problem. For a more elaborate system, looking into RAID systems might be a good idea though.

*Edit* And an UPS to keep things going in case of a power shortage. At least for long enough to be able to save stuff. That's the handy part about laptops, no UPS needed since they already have a battery.

I did this a long time ago. You need a boot manager.

Back before Windows integrated the Operating system within it I used to write a command that swapped out the Autoexec then rebooted the computer.... Back then Autocad would not work on a computer that had had recently run Windows swap space and page space allotments. But Windows always left a marker in there of some sort and Autocad would not run with it... So I had to write a whole autoexec to prepare for Autocad...

Same for Windows so I had two swaps setup....

That resolved itself when Autocad came out with a Windows version.

People run both windows and OSX on macs. they use the windows boot up to play games.

It's not the gluten getting into the eggs I'm eating causing the celiac issues but the simple being in the chicken feed. It's a dust over everything. The gluten.

Each day is getting much worse. My bf looks at me in worry. As I rush in and out of the bathrooms, wake up wretching, gagging, sweaty, cold, unable to regulate my body temperature any more, no appetite, weight loss with puffyness, hair loss of signifigance, rashes on my body, constantly breaking nails, tears and anxiety. The world of celiac disease being surrounded by gluten. The only cure or treatment for celiac disease is totally gluten-free living environment and avoiding gluten cross contamination.

I have only had chickens since June, but have never been happier. Life isn't life without chickens. Wheat, barley and rye all contain gluten.

Today I gave everyone just pellets this morning. All seems to be well received. Yes, the ff was bubbled, gray on top, smelled yeasty/bready. Both batches. Of brand new feed. Chickens looked at me like, where's the food momma?

Gave them pellets today, oh we're happy. Thank you momma. I'm so confused, b/c I have had most of these since they hatched and they always had ff. Now no one wants any ff. Is it after affects of tylan? Or b/c winter is here in earnest now and ain't joking around? I give scratch at night, after they have eaten and boss, as of course, they are all molting right now and it's below freezing.
