Nothing quite as sad as someone forgetting who they are... Last year it was both grandmas, one with dementia one with Alzheimer's ( I don't completely understand the difference ) this year it was my good friend Jean she'd forgotten who I was for about the last year though... My condolences to your wife V, and you

dementia is forgetfulness, alzheimers is memory loss eg. forgetting where your toothbrush is kept vs forgetting what it is called and used for.

I get so worked up that nothing is being done researching these diseases causes, because there's no $$$ in a cure,I'm so sick of the ads that proudly say that we "manage the symptoms" as best we can. ugh.

Like the new Depends ad, no, there is NO shame they are just underwear, but look how many people are wearing them! Why aren't people more upset at the reasons behind the need?

Among other things...that was a very provocative film for me. The estate thing was way in the background.

Provocative is a good word. Troubling at first but I loved the way she retaliated against the 'public servant' that abused her.

You just diagnosed me with dementia.

I'm completely with you. Very little research for cause, just "cures" or a less obtrusive management of symptoms.

I screamed at the tv YES! when he got his. Then I felt bad. Mixed feelings abound with this movie.

I went in my room and cried the first time she yelled at me cuz she couldn't find "that stick for her mouth" I knew she was in trouble and the meds made it 10x worse so we made a decision tostop them and just let her live as long as she wanted to. (bonus no more mini strokes after that)
