The Old Folks Home

That sure brings back "memories". My Dad died in 2001 from congestive heart failure, one of the things people with MS die from.

I had to carry him from a car back in 1999 when their house in Redding was threatened by a fire. It was like picking up a skeleton. He was a strong man at one time but had wasted away from MS.

Diapers, catheters and etc. was the norm during the last several years. He was 63 when he passed.

Reminds me of dad, just waisted away to nothing... Moms doing well for now, it progressive ms and the days to come will get harder... Eventually I think she should move upstairs so I can take better care of her... She is 61, dad was 69

Once it gets ugly, I'm out of the picture no matter how much it costs me.

Did anyone see the movie, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?
Kind of an estate dispute going on there too.
I have!

I read the books and watched the Swedish movies as well as the American one. Looking forward to the rest of them from The US too.

I hope I never have to witness anyone going through MS. Horrible illness. We just lost Karin's grandmother a last week, she had been suffering from Alzheimer, or at least a very similar condition caused by a stroke (alternate theory that surfaced about two years before her passing) for ten years. That wasn't pretty either.

Nothing quite as sad as someone forgetting who they are... Last year it was both grandmas, one with dementia one with Alzheimer's ( I don't completely understand the difference ) this year it was my good friend Jean she'd forgotten who I was for about the last year though... My condolences to your wife V, and you
