I almost blew by that one, till I saw the word canoe.
I'll do it.

I couldn't actually get clothes on him.

I have five hens, Four are going thru a molt. They are 18 Mo old. Been molting for two Mo or so. Have not got eggs for 10 days. Is this normal and do they do this every year, when to get older? The first winter they slowed but didn't stop. Help !!

Yeah my 8 girls stopped dead about 10 days ago. I was getting 4 or 2 or 3 for 8 hens that I rescued. About 16 mo old. That's why they cull every year at this hatchery.

I'm going to start putting on lights shortly starting 1 hr a day then 2 a day per week

Commonly it's molt second autumn and each thereafter with a longer winter break every year. Commercial operations get non-stop egg production by rotating black-out houses, starting a new flock of pullets every 2 months placed on a strict lighting program and after 18 months they become soup. 2 months later another flock moves in. Properly fed and managed, they do start up again each year after winter solstice.
