Well, since I put Beth and Punkin outdoors during the day, they are not diapered then. She laid the egg outside on the patio table (but could have laid it in the dog bed during her "early inside" visit because i was watching her behavior).
And I have captured Escapee Bunny - aka Dusky! For the past three days, she has been coming into the house to visit her daddy Simba in his hutch. She came in through the door off the deck all on her own. I leave that door slightly open so Sparkle can go out into the garden for her daily constitutional. For two days, I was only able to get within 4 inches of her; she is FAST. But I trapped her inside by coming into the house off the deck and closing that door. Then I closed the office door for a couple of hours.
During that time, I dragged the outside rabbit hutch (from which the geese released the bunnies so many months ago) across the yard to the side patio and set it up with fresh bedding, a filled water bottle and a dish o' pellets for her. I had to carefully discard some found eggs in the upper section.... Silly bantam hens!
When I opened the office door again, Dusky had climbed up boxes of stuff next to Simba's hutch to be at the same level. I am guessing hormones drew her into the house to the buck... Snatched her up and put her in her patio hutch.
I always enjoyed seeing her in the yard. She's the only bunny who stuck around when the geese opened that hutch with the doe and Simba's five progeny in it. MAYBE I can let her out again after a couple of weeks learning that hutch is her safe home and the best place to spend her nights.
I can dream, can't I?
