The Old Folks Home

SCG - The water wiggler is a child's toy that some use to monitor the internal egg temp (or close to it.) It is a water filled tube that will invert itself endlessly and wiggle out of your hand. I use a zip-lock bag of water folded in half and wrapped with tape with the thermometer probe inserted between the folds. I have pretty much stopped using that, as well, and only use my two SpotChecks for the warm up and hatch.

Ok... I'm a pretty intelligent human being and I would have NEVER thought to equate a children's toy with temperature monitoring.

Thanks for the explanation. Do you monitor temp in a specific place? Are you looking for 99.5? 100?

Maybe I should just start a new thread so I don't annoy y'all here?

The wiggler probe should be set so that the probe is at mid egg level. You are trying to get the inside of the egg to 99.5. That is a bit harder to do with a still air.

The milk lid for adjusting is a very good tip.
