The Old Folks Home

SCG, there are small (pencil sized) vent holes in the bottom half of the stryro-bator. Don't cover or plug them, they allow fresh air to be pulled into the bator while the heat is escaping through those on top.

How did I not see these before? There was actually a small hole in the side of the incubator near the seam. It looked clogged, so I stuck my lips on it and blew to clear it last night. It apparently was not the vent hole you were talking about. This is a true story.

While I might not care for a lot of seafood you all talking about yummy real food is making me regret my lunch. DH packs it for me just about every day so I try very hard not to complain since he is being a sweetie but I was really looking forwards to the leftover minestrone from last night's dinner for lunch today. I got my usual bucket of fresh veggies (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and cherry tomatoes). I usually don't mind the veggies for lunch but have to admit I am getting very bored with them.

I wish BF would pack me a bucket of veggies. My lunches usually consist of really bad choices in the morning (see also: zebra cakes and potato chips) or like today, nothing at all with plans to go to the cafeteria (which always fall through). I ended up slumming lunch from others today - m&ms with trail mix. I wish I could think of lunch in the evening time and be proactive.

If I remember correctly, the US can only produce about half the shrimp it consumes, so they need to import the stuff. All our shrimp here is imported, we don't have them naturally. Only crayfish.

Wisher, American Pie is the song and movie franchise.

Okay, then the cake:

EIGHTY SEVEN POSTS ABOUT FOOD WHILE I WAS GONE AND THIS!!!!!

Crazy here as usual. I am facing some big changes at work and the kids are out for Christmas break. I can't even think.......

Hope the changes are intelligent changes to keep you safe (and mentally stimulated). I'm enjoying my new job - full of things to fix and learn. I was in a rut for a long time (albeit a competent rut) so I'm enjoying the new challenges.

SCG he usually makes up baggies of mixed veggies for my lunches for the whole week although we just went away from that practice so we wouldn't be filling the landfill with sandwich bags. I now use a reusable plastic container. I have been eating raw veggies mainly for lunch for over a year now (ever since we started eating more healthy although DH has strayed not as far as Zebra cakes but candy and chips yes) and it is getting a bit stale. The only problem with stale is it is also low cal which I have to eat because just looking at that yummy cheesecake is adding pounds to my thighs as we speak. I swear I am eating less than 1000 calories a day but my metabolism is that of a sloth so I have put on 10 to 15 pounds in the last few months. Not happy about it considering I have cut just about every snack that I would have on occasion out of my diet. I just changed my exercise routine to 1/2 hour on the treadmill every day in the morning to see if that keeps me motivated to exercise.

I hear you on the slothy metabolism. I had cryptosporidiosis for a couple weeks 2 years ago and wasn't eating and was losing a lot of uhm... fluid... and lost 0.2 lbs. If the world ever ends it's going to be me, you, Diva and the roaches.

I prefer the still air because I find that the ones with the fans will dry out the humidity pretty fast..at least around here..in the dessert. Even in the winter. I hand turn too, unless I know I am going to be really busy for the next couple of weeks, the I use the egg turner. I change the eggs around every other day, or just put them in a different spot while turning, but make sure all are done every other day. I get great hatches..here's my last ones, just hatched on the 23rd, just before Christmas. :) Had 19 out of 20 hatch, one didn't make it by the next day...strangest thing I've seen yet in all the years of hatching. The yolk didn't absorb. It went inside, but it started to leak out the next day. :/

You can tell, some EE mixes, also..welsummer, and a few bantams.

I wonder if it would help things here as we tend to alot of humdity unless it's cold and clear skys then we drop down like a stone........but it's fairly usually to be round 80% humdity outside...inside usually bout 60/50
