Works for me...

Is that squirrel or guinea pig? Looks big for squirrel. Have you heard of 'meat eater'? It's a show with Steve Rubella...he eats everything, big hunter.

Somehow the process of making soap doesn't seem too appealing to me. I'd rather keep some of the mystery alive regarding products I use to clean myself.

Saponification is a really neat process to watch. Most of the stuff in your commercial soap isn't really soap in the true definition of the word. The hot process soap I make comes from Suzanne at Chickens in the Road located here http://chickensintheroad.com/house/crafts/how-to-make-soap/

Although the "base" is different in that recipe, it runs you through how to make soap, easily. Her base that I use is located here:

I like the newer ones that look like casserole dishes. Much easier to store when un-needed.

We're pretty lucky to have a large kitchen and a lot of storage area in our island. Right now we have venison chili cooking in one of our slow cookers. We are running low on deer - next time we make chili we'll have to make two batches - his and hers (I don't eat grocery store meat). This is one reason why we have so many slow cookers. I'm also thinking about putting on a thing of hot mulled cider. We're supposed to get a large snowstorm tonight... chili and cider.

I have a huge kitchen by most standards, it's just laid out totally wrong. I have many 9 inch cabinets spread out over the layout with only a few full size ones. Why, I have no idea. So there isn't a lot of cabinet space. My slow cooker is in the dining rm hutch, where I forget about it a lot. I really should use it more.
