The Old Folks Home

hope she wasnt offended
Mediterranean class have really big combs.

I posted a picture of some chickens on our local chicken group site and a guy that has had chickens his whole life asked what kind of rooster the black and white one was. I told him it was an Ancona pullet, not even full grown.

Bama nice looking birds and congrats on the blue egg!
DK and SCG hoping your hatches are going well. :fl
I am finishing up my next sewing project and other than one small mistake that no one will know about unless they have the pattern, I really love how it came out. The original pattern called for a spring panel but I saw this fall one and loved the scene.

I just have to finish up the quilting and the binding and then this one is done. Next SCG sent me the patterns for the St. Paddy's day runner and wall hanging. I got some fabrics to do them the other day. My next goal is to see how long I can go on the fabric stash without purchasing more fabric for a while. It is not that I have a ton, it is that the scraps are getting out of control and I need to find some creative uses for them before I add to the scraps pile. I found a bunch of scrap fabric ideas so between those projects and the two quilt projects I will be starting soon, I should not need any fabric for a while.

Hey, men cook too!

I've never been that into dressings. I like a caesar salad, and french dressing can be tasty, but usually I just sprinkle a bit of balsamico and olive oil on top of salads, and some salt and pepper. We had "salad" for dinner yesterday too. About 350g chicken, 100g walnuts, 100g chevre, some tomatoes and a salad bush, dressed with a 1:1:1 dressing made of honey, olive oil and white wine vinegar. It was a bit protein heavy...

Bambi and Kris, congrats on your first blue egg! It's very pretty.

I haven't been lucky enough to find one who cooks for me. Karin is a lucky girl! Love all your recipes and pictures.

Absolutely gorgeous! I've bought plenty of fabric for projects. My mom, aunts and grandmother were fabric crazy! Mom had shelving units full and a couple of dressers. She worked for short periods of time on a few occaisions for fabric stores.

When I met my wife I always did the cooking. We were married before I found out she could cook.

Just because I can't resist posting cute chick pictures....
A group portrait of my Trader Joe's hatchlings

Reminds me of "4 and 20 blackbirds baked in a pie".

By the way, good job on the TJ hatch.
TJ doesn't carry fertile eggs here. Whole Foods does but they come from a farm in Wisconsin, then get shipped to the distribution center in Chicago, then make their way to St. Louis. They're always at least 2 weeks old by the time they get here. I only tried to hatch them once, all clears.
