All good advice, SCG, but the thing that has helped me more than anything is putting paper towels on the likely poop collection areas. On the ledge that the wire sits on (small strips,) on the bottom between the vent holes, and I line the troughs of the tray where the water goes. I also put one paper towel over the wire, in a diamond shape so that poop collects on it but air can still circulate. You need to experiment because it greatly affects your humidity. It's okay for me to have lots, because I use them as hatchers.

That's great they are happy. I know I have some that are abt. 3 months old and they are in my large brooder and are needing more room. But I am afraid to move them to a pen with all these cold fronts coming through. They are going thru their teenage molt and have a heat light in their brooder. lol@chickadoodles the big chicks are very happy... They where over duo for a larger home. Who would miss having 9 mini chickens in there house... Me![]()
If I am going to get less than a month of use, I want my 25 cent light bulbs!
Oh Bunnylady I', so with you. I'm trying to use newer versions of windows and dang it is like learning Greek!!! I liked my 2003 version just fine. 14 years or as you said: "doing it for ages" Knew everything it could do. So lost with the newest versions . .@drumstick diva - What a pain! I'm not a fan of new stuff either - not because I'm afraid of something being wrong with it, but because it means I have to learn a whole new way of doing something that I've been doing for ages.![]()
