The tubed water corrects their hydration status, which is very important, especially for laying eggs. As I understand it, the liquid oral calcium can be utilized immediately in birds and will help their muscles in expelling the eggs. It will also help them lay down shell. The steam filled room is a less stressful alternative to giving a warm bath. Never bathe a sick, stressed bird, it can kill them!

Lol, not quite, but I have had hens lay their eggs within 15 minutes of getting calcium. Calcium Gluconate is definetly something one should have in their first aid kit and in the US one will find it at Tractor Supply in the cattle section. Refrigerate after opening.
