I wonder if it would help to burn the surface of the garlic field to get rid of the fungus in the ground and then plant bulbs that are definitely healthy.
Wouldn't work here though, doesn't get hot enough. It might work if you dumped a layer of horse manure and something else that will heat up nicely, then wet it down and cover with black plastic. It would need some air holes, but I think that could add to the heat.
Quote: A good reason to rotate crops. IF the garlic cannot be gown in those fields, then perhaps another crop will. Hard on the farm though as they are heavily invested in one crop. I love garlic and eat more than my fair share of it. Just had garlic sauteed in butter, then added three fresh eggs, for lunch.
For anyone interested, aart sometimes has garlic for planting.
