THe artic cold is hitting you first, sorry. Got 2-4 over night. TOday was the lull. How much snow you get so far, Arielle? We've got 2 or 3 inches so far but it's going to snow for another 24 hours. It's wicked cold, too.
Quote: Thanks Arielle. I am hoping the offspring will have smaller combs is all. I love the dark mahogny color and their feathers have such a beautiful sheen to them they look almost like someone waxed them. lol My Roosters are as friendly as the hens and demand attention. lol
Always something to work on!!! Personally I like his crown. He looks regal!
I have not had a reason to cull any of the males, so all 14 cruise around here, or DID before the high snows. Now every one is cooped up.Gotta love the docile temperaments. WOuld like to get the size of that coop doubled.![]()
They look amazing!Hey Ron I got a few pics of my Buckeye today. I am not that great at taking pics but here they are.
for comparison you can see the width of the buckeye and chantecler
this pic shows their true color
the flash lightened him up to much
his comb is a little large for the SOP but I have his eggs in the bator
Again he is a lot darker than this
It is too soon to tell with them--they are not old enough to have wattles start and if they have pea combs it is hard to tell with them at 4 weeks.I was told that you guys and girls could maybe help me with questions about chickens or chicks I should say. I am trying to figure out what sex my 4 week old chicks are. One was real easy and very obvious. big comb already and red wattles. He's the only one. The others have yellow combs and can only see one other that I can see the comb on. I could use some help.
They said to put full body shots on which they don't always cooperate as you know.
This is a B.R. mix unless by some chance had same breed both parents. Could also be part W.L or Ameraucana.
These chicks have no wattles yet and I'm not sure about comb. I'm new at this and it just looks like part of their beak to me. Supposedly these could be Ameraucanas or EE's
This chick did not cooperate at all. Couldn't get it to stand still. Is that a comb or beak if you can tell.
These are a W.L. mix but maybe only white leghorn,
The chick with the black markings on it's face is a B.R. mixed with either W
hite leghorn or Ameaucana. I tried to keep the pics together but flubbed up on this last chick. It is the only one with markings on it's face. I would apprec. any help.

You have not obvious males but a couple have the feeling of being cockerels.
